"Brother can you paradigm?" New media breakout workshops planned for Phoenix

This year's BCA annual workshop will feature a series of lessons to help communicators understand and use new interactive media strategies in their organizations.

At last year's BCA-Mobile workshop, communications specialists from the International Mission Board presented a session explaining these new strategies and how they are being used. Because these new media strategies represent the wave of the future, BCA leaders have organized four breakout workshops on this topic for 2008:

  • Understanding new media strategies. What is Web 2.0? How are communicators using Facebook, You-Tube and a variety of other new applications to spread their message?
  • Storytelling in new media. What skill sets do storytellers need to operate in these new media environments?
  • New media and your communications strategy. Now that you know what it is, see how some agencies are already putting this technology to work. Learn from them and begin to explore what your agency should do to meet new audiences through interactive media.
  • New media panel discussion. Ask anything you want of every session leader from this series.

Organizers and presenters are excited about the learning opportunities this represents for all BCA participants. Additionally, there are dozens of other workshops planned, with subjects ranging from photography and writing to public relations and video. Please plan to attend the Phoenix workshop by registering now on the BCA Web site.
